Attorney Courtney Spencer
Attorney Courtney Spencer has been practicing law for over twenty years and has spent her career tirelessly advocating for her clients. As a notable legal resource in her field, she is a James W. Cooper Fellow and sits on the Attorney Wellness Committee. Courtney earned her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. While there, she interned for Connecticut Legal Services, was the community outreach director for the Public Interest Law Group and interned at the Center for Children’s Advocacy. She also held a position and worked as a teaching assistant on the Moot Court Board, and was an associate editor for The Insurance Law Journal. In addition to law school, Courtney studied at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, where she focused her studies on human rights law. She is admitted to the Connecticut Bar, the District Court of Connecticut, the Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Courtney helps families and individuals plan for the future by making sure their assets are protected, their children’s future is secure, and their healthcare needs are organized and necessary legal documents are executed. Additionally, she works with families to create special needs trusts to protect the financial future of children and adults with disabilities.
Courtney represents children with a wide array of disabilities in the area of special education law and has worked diligently to get her clients the services they are entitled to by law. She has successfully tried due process cases and handled federal appeals, working with families from towns throughout Connecticut.
Courtney is a lifelong resident of Connecticut and, in addition to her work as an attorney, she is a wife and proud mother of one beautiful daughter.

Diane brings many decades of managerial, administrative and customer service expertise to her job as office manager. Diane oversees the day to day operations of the firm, providing support to our legal team and supervision to the paralegal and administrative staff. She excels at customer service and has a true passion for supporting our clients.
Luriena Palmares, Paralegal, is a graduate of Branford Hall Career Institute and has worked at the Law Office of Courtney P. Spencer, LLC since October of 2014.
